INTERVIEW WITH KATARZYNA KAMINSKA
1. Can you tell us something about yourself? What is your name, how old are you and where are you from?
„My name is Katarzyna Kamińska. I am 24 years old, and I hold polish passport!“
2. When did you become interested in volleyball and when did you start training?
„I started my volleyball journey at age of 8 years old. To be honest, it started in the very basic way. My PE teacher noticed that I had some kind of potential, then invited me to the training. I was practicing with way older girls, which I was simply terrified of. I will not hide, volleyball wasn’t love at first sight. But the more I practiced the more I fell in love with this sport.“
3. How much are you tall and what position do you play?
„I’m 180cm tall, and my role on the court is to deliver the best balls possible to my spikers.“
4. Who are your idols in sports in general and who in volleyball?
„My biggest idol, I would even say authority, is polish volleyball player, named Michal Kubiak. I used to watch him from early years of my life. His skills in this sport are incredible, but what I appreciate even more, is his attitude and character. For me, he is a living example how every sportsperson should act.“
5. Are you a member of a volleyball club and if so, which club?
„My first club is placed in my hometown, Poland. Salos Cortile Kielce, that’s how the club is named, is basically the reason, why I live my dream life now. Currently I play for club KV Vëllaznimi in Kosovo, Serbia.“
6. Can you single out some success and tell us more about it?
„I am new member of my current club, arrived not even month ago. I truly believe the time for success is ahead of us.“
7. What are your plans for the future in terms of volleyball?
„Since always I have only one goal. To achieve beautiful things thanks to volleyball. To improve every day, develop the best possible level, perform every single game. Volleyball is a great opportunity for me to travel, get to know new people, countries and cultures.“
8. Would you recommend the younger generation of boys and girls to try volleyball?
„I would definitely recommend to play sport. Choose any discipline that interests you, and just try! Who knows, maybe will stay with you forever.“
