Read the interview we had with Masa Jankovic, a basketball player from Serbia who has been training basketball for a little over 10 years.
1. Can you tell us something about yourself? What is your name, how old are you and where are you from?
"My name is Masa Jankovic, I play basketball professionally and I am 23 years old. I was born in Vrbas."
2. When did you start training basketball?
"I've been coaching basketball since I was 12."
3. How much are you tall and what position do you play?
"I am 187 cm tall and I play as a power forward."
4. Who is your idol in basketball and who in sports in general?
"My idol in basketball is Sonja Petrovic Vasic, and in sports Novak Djokovic."
5. Are you a member of a basketball club and if so, which club?
"Last year I played in Spain in the club Leganes, and I still haven't signed a contract for next season."
6. Can you single out some success and tell us more about it?
"My best and dearest success is winning gold at the European Basketball Championship in 2021 with the senior national team of Serbia. Playing with players like Sonja, Ana Dabovic and Jelena Brooks meant a lot to me and I learned a lot from them. The most beautiful day in my life is the welcome on the balcony."
7. What are your future plans for basketball?
"To sign for a good club next season and my biggest dream is to one day play in the Euroleague." It is my dream to play at the Olympic Games with the national team, which I hope will come true next year in Paris."
8. Would you recommend the younger generation of boys and girls to try basketball?
"Of course, the best time I spend is on the field and hanging out outside the field. I made some of my best friends through basketball."
