SVETSKO PRVENSTVO U FUDBALU 2022. GODINE

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18, 2022. This will be the first time that an Arab country has hosted the competition, but also the first time that the World Cup has been held in the Middle East. The format will be the same as in the previous six championships, in which 32 football teams will participate, including the football team of the host country. This will be the last time that 32 national teams compete in the championship, because from 2026, 48 national teams will compete in the championship. The championship will not be held during the usual months, i.e. June and July, but will be held at the end of November due to extremely high temperatures that reach up to 50 degrees in the summer months. It will also last shorter than the previous ones, i.e. only 29 days, so the final will be held on December 18, 2022. This day is a public holiday for the people of Qatar because December 18 is Qatar National Day.
