From Thursday, March 23, 2023, the matches of the first of ten qualifying rounds for the European Football Championship, which will be held in 2024 in Germany, will be played. The qualification for the European Championship 2024 will run from 23 March 2023 to 26 March 2024 to determine the 23 participants of the 2024 European Football Championship. Twenty teams will ensure participation directly after the main part of the qualifications, while 12 teams will participate in the play-off, which will take place in March 2024 and is the second chance to qualify for the championship. There are three stages of play-off qualification. Each play-off will consist of a semi-final (two games are played) and a final (one game is played). The top-ranked team in the playoffs will meet the lowest-ranked team, the remaining two teams play in the second semi-final. The host of the final will be determined by a draw. The three play-off winners will advance to the 2024 championship, joining the teams that advanced through the main qualifying round. The national teams are divided into ten groups, of which seven groups contain 5 teams, and 6 teams compete in three groups.
