INTERVJU SA EVELINOM RUTKOVSKOM, TALENTOVANOM ODBOJKAŠICOM IZ LETONIJE.
Read the interview we had with Evelinom Rutkovskom, odbojkašicom iz Letonije, koja odbojku trenira više od 10 godina.
1. Can you tell us a little more about yourself? What is your name, how old are you and where are you from?
"My name is Evelina Rutkovska. I'm 19 years old and I was born in Latvia, Daugavpils."
2. When did you become interested in volleyball and when did you start training?
"I became interested in volleyball and sports in general thanks to my parents, they taught me to love sports, they are my main support always and in everything.At the age of 8, I started training and taking volleyball seriously. Playing at the youth sports school, we have won the Latvian championship and international tournaments many times.Of course we have done a lot of hard work for which I am grateful to my youth team I would especially note two coaches, Andrey Kalan and Olga Teyvane. They gave me the basis of volleyball. They were the first coaches who believed in me ,for which I am very grateful."
3. How much are you tall and what position do you play?
"My height is 185cm and my position is outside hitter."
4. Who are your idols in sports in general, and who in volleyball?
"My idols in sport are Kathrine Switzer, Evgenia Medvedeva and Anastasija Grigorjeva, and in volleyball, there is Tatiana Kosheleva, Gabriela Guimaraes."
5. In which club did you start training and in which club are you today?
"I started playing at “milLATss”(now it’s called SuFA club/DU) at age 14 but my first professional club was in Austria, Salzburg -team “PSVBG SALZBURG”, at age 18. This season, I signed a contract with the Danish club “Brøndby volleyball club". The previous year they were champions of Denmark. This year we have a completely different team, but no less good. I would say that we have a lot of young players, but we also have a girls with a lot of experience. This is our main advantage, to have this combination of players and coaches."
6. Can you single out some of the successes you achieved with the club?
"At the moment, we have reached the semi-finals of the Danish Cup and we will fight to reach the final and first place."
7. What are your future plans for volleyball?
"My plan and dream are to play in the Champions League and play in the same team as one of my "idols" or against also as an option."
8. Would you recommend the younger generation of boys and girls to try volleyball?
"I would certainly recommend children to play volleyball. Due to this, I found love, friends, willpower, and, finally, the meaning of life. I learned how to never give up and fight till the end."
