Read the interview we had with Anastasia Bakunovich, a young volleyball player from Belarus who has been training volleyball for almost 10 years.
1. Can you tell us something about yourself? What is your name, how old are you and where are you from?
"My name is Anastasia,I am 18 years old, I come from Belarus, I live in the city of Brest at the moment."
2. When did you become interested in volleyball and when did you start training?
"In general, I was called to volleyball for a long time, but because I was engaged in synchronized swimming, I did not want to go to volleyball, but one day I finished swimming.And I was simply confronted with the fact: "tomorrow at 8 am we will meet at the bus stop and go to the Olympic Reserve Center."I didn't really want to haha, but when we got there I really liked it, it was all in late 2014-early 2015.From that moment, my volleyball career began."
3. How much are you tall and what position do you play?
"My height is only 165 cm, I play in the position of libero."
4. Who are your idols in sports in general and who in volleyball?
"In sports in general, my idol is Novak Djokovic. In volleyball, from the men I would single out: Verbova, Grebejnikov, and from the women: Golodukhina, Podkopaeva."
5. Are you a member of a volleyball club and if so, which club?
"Initially, I trained not at the club, but at the Olympic Reserve center, then, in 2018, our team "Pribuzhye Tsor Victoria" showed up in Division B of the Republic of Belarus. At the moment I am playing in the best team of the Republic of Belarus "Pribuzhye", we are playing in the A division."
6. Can you single out some success and tell us more about it?
"In December 2022, our team won the RB Cup.Also, the team had won various titles before, but then I was only rooting for this team."
7. What are your plans for the future in terms of volleyball?
"My plans are to develop and not stand still, to reach the maximum level in this sport."
8. Would you recommend the younger generation of boys and girls to try volleyball?
"Actually, yes, I would recommend it, because there are many talented children. The main ones are desire and aspiration."
