INTERVJU SA KATJOM DUBOVOM, TALENTOVANOM ODBOJKAŠICOM IZ UKRAJINE!
Read the interview we had with Katjom Dubovom, odbojkašicom iz Ukrajine, koja odbojku trenira skoro 15 godina.
Can you tell us a little more about yourself? What is your name, how old are you and where are you from?
"My name Dubova Katya . I'm 22 years old. My birthday is on July 1st. I'm from Ukraine. I was born in Poltava."
2. When did you become interested in volleyball and when did you start training?
"The first time I went to volleyball was when I was 10 years old. My mom took me and my little sister (she was 9 years old) to volleyball, so we wouldn't have to sit at home when we weren't at school. At first my sister and I just threw the ball over the net and caught it, because it was hard to teach us how to hit it like in volleyball because we were so young. And a year later, when I was 11, we started learning volleyball."
3. How much are you tall and what position do you play?
,,Trenutno imam 180 cm i moja pozicija je spoljni napadač.“
4. Who are your idols in sports in general, and who in volleyball?
,,Nemam idola. Imam ljude koji me inspirišu i sviđa mi se način na koji igraju. Sviđa mi se kako igraju Tijana Bošković (Srbija), Gabrijela Gimaraeš (Brazil), Kesli Robinson (Sjedinjene Američke Države), Ivan Zajcev (Italija), Leon Venero (Italija). Andres Mol i Kristijan Sorum (Norveška).“
5. In which club did you start training and in which club are you today?
"I started to play volleyball professionally at the age of 15 in the city of Mykolaiv and I played for the "Yuzhanka" team there. Now I'm playing my first season abroad in Cyprus for the «Aris Polemiou" first division team."
6. Can you single out some of the successes you achieved with the club?
"On my first team, Southeastern, we took first place in the 2016/2017 season in the first league and advanced to the big leagues . The next season I played for the team "Poltavchanka" Poltava city in the high league and we took 3rd place. Season 2018/2019 I played for the team "Alanta" Dnipro city and we won the higher league and entered the super league (this is the highest league in Ukrainian volleyball). And the seasons 2019/2020 , 2020/2021, 2021/2022 I played for VC «Alanta»."
What are your plans for the future in terms of volleyball?
"My plans for the future are to play in international competitions such as the European Cup, Champions League, Club World Championship. I would very much like to play in the championships of Italy, Turkey, Poland, France."
8. Would you recommend the younger generation of boys and girls to try volleyball?
,,Pošto obožavam odbojku naravno voleo bih da se što više dece okuša u njoj. Želim da odbojka bude popularna kao fudbal. Odbojka je veoma spektakularna, emotivna i lep je sport. Sigurna sam da ni jedno dete neće zažaliti ako dođe na odbojkaški trening i oseti atmosferu.“
