INTERVIEW WITH GAIA VERDINA!
Gaia Verdina is a Italian volleyball player and has been training volleyball for 15 years.

1. Can you tell us something about yourself? What is your name, how old are you and where are you from?

„Hello, my name is Gaia Verdina and I’m 22. I am from Italy.“


2. When did you become interested in volleyball and when did you start training?

„I have started playing when I was 13yo, tbf i started playing out of boredom and because my parents pushed me to try playing a team based sport. At the beginning i didnt even like it but the more I played the more I fell in love with the sport.“


3. How much are you tall and what position do you play?

„I’m 180 cm and I play as middle blocker.“


4. Who are your idols in sports in general and who in volleyball?

„I really don’t have idols outside of volleyball, regarding my sport I am a huge fan of Gabi, Sara Fahr, Yuri Romanó and De Cecco.“


5. Are you a member of a volleyball club and if so, which club?

„I’ve started playing for Pantarei in Gallarate, Italy and Ive just finished the season with Volley Network in Cardano, im currently looking for my next team as i have some offers lined up and im taking my time to choose.“


6. Can you single out some success and tell us more about it?

„My biggest achievement is playing in the Italian „Serie C“ where ive won multiple MVPs titles .“


7. What are your plans for the future in terms of volleyball?

„I’m a very ambitious person and I always try to improve myself so my current goal is to achieve as much as possible and reach the top of italian volleyball.“


8. Would you recommend the younger generation of boys and girls to try volleyball?

„Yes of course, not considering the sporting aspect, volleyball helps you a lot developing as a person by giving you the possibility to make long lasting friendship ,build carachter and becoming ambitious, strong willed and with a winning mentality.“
