INTERVIEW WITH ELENA NOVITSKAIA!
Elena Novitskaia is a Russian volleyball player and has been training volleyball for 15 years.
1. Can you tell us something about yourself? What is your name, how old are you and where are you from?
„My name is Elena Novitskaia, I am 25 years old, I was born in Russia, in the city of St. Petersburg.“
2. When did you become interested in volleyball and when did you start training?
„I became interested in volleyball when in the 3rd grade my physical education teacher suggested that I try going to a volleyball section. As a result I liked it and I have been playing volleyball for 15 years.“
3. How much are you tall and what position do you play?
„My height is 167 cm, and I play as a libero.“
4. Who are your idols in sports in general and who in volleyball?
„I have been following football players such as Leonel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for a long time. There are no idols as such in volleyball, I like to follow everyone, in terms of games, emphasize something for myself and strive to grow professionally. During my growth in professional sports, a lot has changed, I really liked Ekaterina Gamova, Alexey Verbov, Sergey Tetyukhin, Tatyana Kosheleva and many others. Now I follow the Turkish League quite often, namely the Fenerbahce team.“
5. Are you a member of a volleyball club and if so, which club?
„My first professional team was Gatchinka (Leningrad region), and now I play in the volleyball club Nadezhda-Gomeldrev (Belarus).“
6. Can you single out some success and tell us more about it?
„With the volleyball club Gatchinka we took 3rd place in the first league of the Russian championship, where I was given the best receiver, after which we entered the Higher League B.“
7. What are your plans for the future in terms of volleyball?
„As such, there are no grand plans, but I would like to play in other professional clubs, abroad, to gain new experience and achieve new results, both personal and team.“
8. Would you recommend the younger generation of boys and girls to try volleyball?
„I would definitely recommend young children to start playing volleyball, it is not only useful, interesting and joyful, but also educational for development in general life, in principle, as in any sport, because sport fosters discipline and creates social connections for communication.“
